Cosmology

One might describe the cosmos in which our story takes places as a multiverse. That is, a space-time consisting of dimensions and existing in a superposition. The fabric of these realities generally are separated, however great elemental or emotional forces may cause them to overlap temporarily. As such, cross-overs have occurred several times, allowing matter and energy to swap between dimensions. This happens most frequently at some particular points where the veil between realities might be considered to be “thinned out”. Performing a ritual sufficient to merge dimensional fabrics at these points will usually cause a temporary connection to appear. At which point, a spherical hole is rent in the dimensional fabric and is thought to be stable for a period of time proportional to the strength of the ritual. Each dimension may have different universal laws which spill out, contaminating each other, and there seems to be an infinite number of them to boot. Additionally, it seems possible to develop a recipe of sorts, allowing for portals to open with some reliability between the same two dimensions. What joy or folly might arise, as the fates dance upon the stage of these cosmos?
